Plot

Decades, even centuries have passed since Ettlemear was inhabited by equines. The lands once overflowed with horses of every alliance, living, breathing, dieing. Now the world of Ettlemear is still and silent, with nary a living this in all the lands. No one knows why the forst equines dissapeared; perhaps it was sickness. Or maybe rivalry between alliances drove the equines of Ettlemear to extinction. Whatever it may have been, the lands have lain untouched for countless centuries, waiting to be re-discovered.
Ettlemear is changing. Horses are stepping forward, claiming to be the direct ancestors of those who lived in Ettlemear centuries ago. Families are torn apart as equines go their seperate ways in this strange new world. Blood is spilled as alliances fight for ultimage control. What's more, a mysterious, strangly translucet fog had taken over the lands. Will these new equines of Ettlemear take up where those before them left off? Or are they destined for falure?

Winds of a New Era (Claim)

Wind is a powerful thing. It can move you; physically and emotionally. There are those who truly can run with the wind, and those who who cannot even keep up with its power. It blows fierce, yet soft enough to make small cornflower petals sway gently. Those who really know the secret; the chosen few who really can run with the wind; they are the few who possess this power the wind has. To be the strongest and be able to defend anything you truly love, yet to be gentile, and keep the fraying peace we all house in our hearts...

Light flickers as wind whipps the grassland vegetation. Back and forth, back and forth, their many leaves and branches cast flashing shadows as the wind blows. Tall grasses sway rhythmically, as if they are being charmed by the prairie breeze. Out of the flickering shadows, many creatures emerge. Wrens, larks, even the occasional doe. But none can compare to the majestic of all.

Areso, ears dipped and tail drooped heavily, emerged from behind a small prairie shrub. Dappled coat dulled, the tall stallion continued to walk out onto the open grassland. The journey to this land was long and tiresome, but he would soon be rewarded. The soft wind flowed through his tangled and matted mane and tail, and the stallion breathed its wild scent in deeply. Following a long sigh of relief, Areso lifted his head, and for that moment, his dulled brown eyes sparkled with delight. Yes... The stallion bolted; nothing could stop him. Running, truly with the wind as his companion beside him, across the wide prairie.

Nostrils flaring, mane wild and flowing, no longer matted, the stallion cantered to a small rise in the land too small to be called a hill. Areso could see the whole prairie from this rise, from the golden grasses below to the yonder, wild blue, above. Areso's soft sienna eyes scanned the lay of the territory; searching for any other form of equine around. A small creek lay on one side of the prairie, the sparkling water visible even from the distance at which Areso was standing. On the other, a massive Joshua Tree grew next to some boulders.

Areso reared up onto his powerful haunches, his voice erupting into a deep neigh that could be heard across the entire landscape. "Golden Prairie, I make a claim; the wind and I. Your sun gazed land, I will use it wisely, to gather lovely and swift mares who fill your hearth with love and beauty, and foals who make my claim into the next generation. Your legacy will be protected by me, and by all who follow me. I will protect this land and all who inhabit it with my entire being; soul and mind, and teach my sons to follow."

The blue roan stallion pounded his hooves on the sun-beat ground, neighing loudly his claim. He tossed his head in the wind, gladly welcoming the cool air on his neck. A smile garnished his once bleak profile, and soft sienna eyes sparkled with joy and pride. The most majestic creature yet to grace the prairie, galloped to the Joshua Tree, to rest before his next long journey...
